Before you write to us…
Below are answers to the questions we hear most often about submissions, reviewing, presentation format, and registration. If your question is not covered here, please contact us at info.konvens2026@gscl.org.
Submission
I missed selecting a submission category (long paper, short paper, “Context Matters” track). How do I indicate that my submission is, for example, a long paper for the main track?
You do not need to select a category at submission time. The length of the paper determines whether it is treated as a long or short submission. Papers belonging to the “Context Matters” track will be grouped thematically by the program chairs after submission.
There is no difference with respect to the proceedings between the tracks.
Are appendices allowed for full paper submissions?
Yes. Appendices are permitted for full paper submissions. Reviewers are not obliged to read them, so make sure your main contribution is fully argued within the page limit.
Has the submission deadline been extended?
Yes. The submission deadline has been extended to 12 May 2026. Please consult the conference website for the most up-to-date list of dates.
Presentation Format
Will the conference be in person, online, or hybrid?
KONVENS 2026 is an in-person conference. Presentations are expected to be given on site in Hamburg.
If you have a strong reason that prevents you from attending in person, please reach out to the organizers and we will consider exceptions on a case-by-case basis.

Is there a registration fee for KONVENS 2026? Are there discounts for students or PhD candidates?
Yes, attending KONVENS 2026 requires a registration fee. There will be reduced fees for students and PhD candidates, expected to be in the range of approximately €80–€150.
Exact rates are not yet finalized and will be announced on the conference website ahead of registration opening.
